ebXML: Global Standard for Electronic Business

    Get PDF
Business-to-business integration is transforming the market and has already begun to increase the efficiency of those companies involved. EDI (Electronic Document Interchange) became very popular during 1970’s; Today EDI transactions total about $750 billion year. EDI is being used by 90% of Fortune 1000 companies. It has indeed become a dominant technology for the largest companies, on the other hand it has been adopted by less than 5% of small and medium sized companies in general and, of these, many use EDI only because their larger customers require it. The reason behind is that EDI is a difficult, complex technology to implement usually comes with high transactional cost. Hence it is suitable for large companies with large volume of transactions. EDI uses fixed, rigid and compressed data format that is difficult to decipher and debug. The data exchange in EDI happens in proprietary VAN (value added network) which is an expensive solution. EbXML (Electronic Business XML) envisioned creating a single global electronic marketplace where enterprises of any size and in any geographic location can meet and conduct business with each other through exchange of xml based messages. The XML (the Extensible Markup Language) has rapidly imposed itself as a popular format for exchange of information on the web. The very nature of XML is that it is a structured document format, in that it represents not only the information to be exchanged, but the metadata encapsulating its meaning. XML technology has potential to solve the existing problems in current EDI systems. Using ebXML, companies have a standard method to exchange business messages, conduct trading relationships, communicate data in common terms and define and register business processes. EbXML is designed to provide a simple way for companies to find one another and conduct business over the Web, allowing those with different platforms to speak a common language. EbXML targets to provide low cost solutions for small and medium enterprises as well as complex solution for large enterprises. This project attempts to implement a prototype of ebXML messaging service as per ebXML specification to obtain the insight look of feasibility and suitability of XML solution for EDI

A case of 66-year-old South Indian post menopausal woman presenting a giant ovarian serous cyst adenoma weighing 23 kg is reported here. A 66-year-old woman was referred to our clinic from a local medical center. When she was seen first at our outpatient clinic, she had gross abdominal distension since 2 years and she was unable to walk. On abdominal ultrasound, a giant cyst was found which encompassed the whole abdomen. At laparotomy, a giant, totally cystic, vascularized and smooth mass attached to the right ovary was encountered. Staging laparotomy was performed. On the postoperative tenth day, she was discharged without any problem. Her pathology report disclosed a 60×47×30 cm serous cyst adenoma weighing 23 kg. This is the largest ovarian cyst that ever reported from our hospital and one of the largest among the reported cases in the literature

A FRAMEWORK FOR QUERY RECOMMENDATION ON LOCATION-BASED QUERIES

Existing keyword insinuation techniques don't ponder about the locations from the users and also the query ensue i.e., the spatial oppressiveness of the user towards the retrieved results isn't taken preference a water in the recommendations. We advise a weighted keyword-document chart, which captures both semantic applicability between keyword queries and also the spatial distance between your resulting dogma and also the user place. We design the very first ever Location-aware Keyword Query Suggestion framework, for suggestions highly relevant to the user’s message needs which recover germane dogma well-nigh to the query issuer’s location. Our prompt LKS framework is orthogonal to and could be conveniently integrated out of all complaint techniques that make use of the query-URL bipartite chart. That LKS hold a different goal and for that reason is distinct from other location-sensitive recommendation methods. The very first blame in our LKS framework is how you can thoroughly measure keyword query similarity while recording the spatial restraint factor. To insure this affirmation, we conducted experience second-hand two denser versions in our datasets the close America online-D. Particularly, the outcross method outperforms other approaches since it uses both spatial and textual constituent throughout the ink propagation process, and therefore soothsay better the moving the ink may have a tendency to proceed and cluster, achieving better partitioning. Set up a baseline formula amplify from formula BCA is brought to solve the issue. Then, we allude to a partition-supported formula which figure the lots of the candidate keyword question in the partition straightforward and found on an inert clockwork to succour reduce the computational cost

Extensive resemblance leads to both related and disordered systems show our purpose achieves tall failure acknowledgment rates and occasional dishonest positive ratio and acquire low news overhead. The ready appropinquate can proceed in a lot of meshwork-distant traffic, incompatible using the restricted fountain in excitable wireless systems. Our approach has got the advantage that it's relevant to both connected and abrupt systems. When simile with other approaches which use localized monitoring, our approach has similar failure notice cost, fall conference overhead and far lower perfidious positive cost. Additionally, an ear has got the advantage that it's relieving to both united and off systems while centralized monitoring is true germane to connected systems. Within an intramural feeling where Gps navigation doesn't work, a node may utility intramural localization techniques. Different location devices and methods have different amounts of error in placing measurements. The failure probability depends upon the node itself along with the atmosphere. Our access only generates localized monitoring bargain and it is relevant to both adjunct and desultory systems many localization techniques occur to be coded in the learning. In the finish, we make a superior enclose of non-performance recognition rate using our advances

SOM based Face Recognition using Steganography and DWT Compression Techniques

    Get PDF
Biometrics is used in day to day life of human beings to access mobile phones, computers, vehicles etc. In this paper, we propose SOM based Face Recognition using Steganography and DWT Compression Techniques. The various available standard face databases such as ORL, JAFFE, NRI, YALE, Indian male and Indian female are used to test the performance of the algorithm. The number of face images per person is reduced using stenography compression technique. The preprocessing techniques such as resize and Gaussian filter are applied on reduced number of face images for uniform size and good quality of images. The initial features are extracted using Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Local Binary Pattern (LBP). The DWT and LBP features are fused using arithmetic additions and connected to input of Self Organizing Map (SOM). The final features are extracted from SOM. The test image features are compared with face database images using Euclidian Distance (ED) to compute performance parameters. It is observed that the performance of the proposed method is better than the existing methods

Abstract. The chemically peculiar star HD 115735 (= HR 5023 = 21 CVn) was observed with the 2.34 meter Vainu Bappu Telescope at Kavalur during the period of January 1999 to April 2000. A total of 47 spectrograms were obtained in the wavelength region of 3900Å to 4400Å at a resolution of 0.65 A per pixel. The equivalent widths of Si II features at 4077, 4128, 4131Å have been found to be varying with a period of 0.88 ± 0.02 day, the amplitudes being about 0.1Å. This is the first report of spectroscopic variations of these features in this star

Streptomyces pneumonia in an immunocompetent adult — a rare isolate

    Get PDF
Streptomyces belongs to the Actinomycetes group of bacteria which are gram-positive non acid-fast bacilli, widely recognised for their potential to produce antimicrobials active against bacterial, mycobacterial, parasitic and fungal infections. They commonly cause cutaneous infections following traumatic inoculation. Visceral infections are relatively rare and limited to immunocompro-mised hosts. We describe a case of Streptomyces pneumonia in a healthy immunocompetent female, who when investigated for voluntary kidney donation, resulted in the isolation of Streptomyces species from bronchial wash cultures. Streptomyces, a potential pathogen in immunocompetent hosts is frequently underdiagnosed. Once isolated, both physicians and microbiologists should pay attention to differentiate true infection from contamination

IntroductionLow body mass index (BMI) is a major risk factor for tuberculosis (PTB). Low BMI can impair the immune system and thus might affect TB incidence.MethodsWe examined the plasma levels of Type 1, Type 17, pro-inflammatory, Type 2 and regulatory cytokines and CC and CXC chemokines in PTB and latent TB (LTB) individuals with low BMI (LBMI) or normal BMI (NBMI).ResultsOur data show that PTB is associated with significantly lower levels of IFNγ, TNFα, IL-2, IL-17A, IL-6, IL-12, IL-4 and IL-5 cytokines but significantly higher levels of IL-10, TGFβ and GM-CSF in LBMI compared to NBMI. Similarly, PTB is also associated with significantly lower levels of CCL2, CCL3, CCL11, CXCL1, CXCL9 and CXCL10 chemokines in LBMI compared to NBMI. Our data reveals that LTB is associated with significantly lower levels of IFNγ, TNFα, IL-2, IL1β, IL-12, IL-13 cytokines but significantly higher levels of IL-10, TGFβ, IL-4 and IL-22 in LBMI compared to NBMI. Similarly, LTB is also associated with significantly lower levels of CCL2, CXCL1, CXCL9 and CXCL10 and significantly higher levels of CCL1, CCL3, and CCL4 in LBMI compared to NBMI.ConclusionThus, LBMI has a major impact on the cytokine and chemokine milieu of both PTB and LTB and might predispose to the increased risk of tuberculosis by this immunomodulatory effect

Orange Photoluminescence from Hydrothermally Grown Zno Nanorods and Study on its Defects

    Get PDF
The visible photoluminescence (PL) of ZnO is controversial for a long time. At present, the contribution of oxygen interstitial defects to yellow/orange emission from ZnO nanostructures is on debate. In this report, the origin of orange emission from solution- grown ZnO nanorods is investigated using excitation wavelength dependent photoluminescence PL, PL excitation and UV-Vis spectra. These results showed that orange emission may be due to the transition of an electron from shallow defect levels positioned slightly below the conduction band to the singly ionized oxygen vacancies. Hence, it is believed that oxygen interstitials may not be responsible for orange emission from solution grown ZnO nanostructures
